Micah

Reyes

Professor Micah Reyes began training in 1995 at a Machado school here in Seattle and received his blue belt there from a Rigan Machado black belt, Bob Bass. After leaving that school he trained under a Lotus Club black belt, Juliano Prado, and then a Cia Paulista brown belt, Alex Candido Puertas – from who he received his purple belt.

In 2002 Prof. Micah Reyes met Gracie Barra Black Belt Marcio “Mamazinho” Lauder. From that day on he knew he wanted to be part of the Gracie Barra family, training and teaching under Master Carlos Gracie, Jr. and helping to keep the Gracie Barra legacy alive. After receiving his black belt from Mamazinho in 2005 he was able to realize his dream of teaching and running a Gracie Barra school full time.

Professor Micah Reyes has been teaching for 10 years and is exceptionally good at passing on his wealth of knowledge to his students. He has a commitment to bettering himself as a martial artist and providing his students with the best instruction possible. He strongly believes in the philosophy behind Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu and feels a sense of history and pride in being part of the family that originated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and brought it to the level of recognition it currently holds as being one of the most effective fighting styles in the world.
